State Street Bank Headquarters AV Install
Project
McDonald Electrical provided comprehensive AV infrastructure installation for State Street Bank’s new headquarters at 1 Congress Street in Boston— a 21-story commercial tower designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners and CBT Architects.
This high-profile banking project involved outfitting over 300 individual rooms with advanced audiovisual systems to support modern workplace communication, collaboration, and presentation needs.
Our scope included:
- AV Cabling & Equipment Installation: Complete wiring and hardware setup for all AV systems across multiple floors.
- Display Systems: Wall-mounted screens, video walls, and ticker boards for real-time financial data and internal communications.
- Conference & Training Rooms: Projectors, screens, microphones, and video conferencing systems to support hybrid meetings and employee development.
- Room Scheduling & Control: Installation of room schedulers and integrated control systems for seamless space management.
- Audio Systems: Speakers and microphones installed throughout offices and meeting spaces for clear sound distribution.
Special Challenges
The project demanded rapid execution of a large AV scope within a compressed timeline. AV installations typically occur at the end of construction to avoid damage and preserve finished surfaces— requiring precise coordination with the general contractor, John Moriarty & Associates, and AV engineer AVI-SPL. McDonald Electricals’ team, which peaked at 12 field crew members, successfully navigated these constraints to deliver a fully integrated AV environment on schedule.
