Building Information Modeling
At McDonald Electrical Corp, we continually improve our virtual design capabilities by integrating new software and technology. We invest time in training our team to be a leader in the electrical CAD/BIM Industry. Embracing collaboration and pre-planning allows us to deliver a project efficiently while reducing waste.
Software & Technology
McDonald Electrical uses the latest versions of Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, Trimble Edgewise, and Bluebeam. With an experienced in-house team of coordinators, we’re able to create 3D models of electrical systems in the early phases of a project, to not only identify more efficient ways of construction utilizing clash detection, but to initiate the prefabrication process of selected components. Our BIM and prefabrication departments being under one roof allow us to collaborate with the entire project team to avoid conflicts prior to needing materials on site.
On-Site Technology
Using our CAD/BIM software alongside the Trimble Robotic Total Station, we’re able to translate points from our BIM files directly to job sites, which expedites layout and installation time. With these advanced technologies being utilized together, we increase our productivity and accuracy of installation.
With the addition of our 3D Trimble Laser Scanner, we can better serve our clients by going into existing spaces in the very early stages of a project to collect data points quickly and safely. These points are incorporated into our Revit models with great detail and accuracy, allowing us to expedite the coordination process.
