Project Scope
McDonald Electrical upgraded the UPS power that serves the BCH Radiology Department, replacing two kVA flywheels. The project also entailed upgrading the Radiology riser voltage from 440 to 480 volts. McDonald completed the project on a fast-track 4-month schedule.
Special Challenges
Critical scheduling of power shutdowns was required in the active, 24/7 Radiology Department in order to get the new flywheels online with minimal disruption to radiology department activities.
