Our work at Northeastern EXP is a great example of how our pre-construction team’s meticulous planning, CAD coordination and prefabrication efforts can help drive critical path schedule milestones on our projects. By modeling all the details with the project coordination teams, we were able to layout all our hangers and equipment locations using our Trimble Robotic Total Station layout tools to ensure precise layout accuracy. We were also able to accurately pre-purchase our materials early, fabricate racks, hangers, conduit bends and equipment supports months ahead of schedule and store in our warehouse to avoid supply chain issues, which enabled our field team to install all the conduits prior to the arrival of the equipment. When the equipment did arrive, we were able to set the equipment in place under the turned down conduits and move onto pulling feeder cables much earlier than would have been the case with traditional installation means.
