McDonald Electrical Corporation Wins NECA Project Excellence Award for Northeastern University EXP Building
McDonald Electrical Corporation is proud to announce it has received the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Project Excellence Award for its outstanding work on the Northeastern University EXP building, a 12-story, 357,000-square-foot research, engineering, and teaching facility in Boston, MA.
The EXP building stands as a beacon of innovation, designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among students, faculty, and industry partners. McDonald Electrical played a pivotal role in delivering the building’s complex electrical infrastructure, incorporating advanced technologies such as BIM, Trimble layout systems, prefabrication, and on-site digital access to real-time models- ensuring precision, efficiency, and safety throughout the project.
“This project is a perfect reflection of what our team does best: solve complex challenges with coordination, innovation, and craftsmanship,” said Mike McDonald, President of McDonald Electrical. “We’re honored to receive this recognition from NECA, and proud of our team’s work on a facility that’s advancing science and education in Boston.”
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Project Excellence Award recognizes the best in the industry, delivering cutting-edge innovative solutions, exceptional craftsmanship, and high-performance outcomes across commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure sectors. Winners of this prestigious award will be formally recognized at next month’s Annual NECA Convention & Trade Show in Chicago.
