We’re proud to share that our team at McDonald Electrical Corporation was honored with three major recognitions at the NECA 2025 Convention and Trade Show in Chicago—an unforgettable moment that celebrates both our company’s growth and the leadership of our President, Mike McDonald.

Honoring Leadership and Team Excellence
Mike was sworn in as NECA District 1 Vice President, representing electrical contractors across New England, New York, and New Jersey. He was also inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contracting, a prestigious honor that recognizes individuals who have made lasting contributions to the electrical industry. For all of us at McDonald, these honors reflect the values Mike brings to our company every day—vision, integrity, and a deep respect for the trades.

We were also thrilled to receive a NECA Project Excellence Award for our work on Northeastern University’s EXP building—a 357,000-square-foot research and teaching facility that’s now a hub for innovation in Boston. Our team delivered the building’s complex electrical infrastructure using advanced technologies like BIM, Trimble layout systems, prefabrication, and real-time digital modeling—ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency from start to finish.

A Proud Moment for Our Entire Team
These recognitions are more than awards—they’re a reflection of the hard work, collaboration, and craftsmanship our team brings to every project. We’re especially proud to be recognized on a national stage for a project that’s helping shape the future of science and education in our city.

As Mike shared at the convention, “Serving as District 1 Vice President and joining the Academy is a privilege, and receiving the Project Excellence Award is a testament to the incredible work our team delivers every day. I’m grateful to NECA, our peers in the Boston Chapter, and most importantly, to the talented team at McDonald Electrical who make achievements like this possible.”

Looking Ahead
McDonald Electrical continues to lead the way in delivering high-quality electrical solutions across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. These honors affirm our commitment to innovation, leadership, and the skilled trades—and we’re excited to keep building what’s next.
