Anthony Macari Jr.

Anthony Macari Jr. brings nearly four decades of experience in the union electrical industry. A 38-year member of IBEW Local 99 in Rhode Island, Anthony has advanced through every level of the trade, beginning as an Apprentice and progressing through Journeyman, Foreman, General Foreman, Project Manager, Facilities Management, and ultimately Owner of a union electrical contracting firm.
Anthony has led ANJ Electric, a Rhode Island Division of McDonald Electrical Corporation, for the past four years and is responsible for all aspects of the division’s leadership and operations. His responsibilities include financial management, labor oversight, estimating, customer relations, business development, electrical permitting in Rhode Island and Connecticut, life safety permitting, bonding, and the daily operations of the ANJ division.
Prior to his time at ANJ Electric, Anthony spent 25 years with a large union electrical contractor and an additional six years in higher education facilities management at Brown University and Yale University. He currently serves as a Commissioner for the Rhode Island State Board of Electrical Examiners, providing industry leadership and regulatory oversight at the state level.
Anthony’s project experience spans a wide range of complex electrical systems, including design-build projects, fire alarm and life safety systems, medium-voltage systems, power distribution, controls, airport systems, solar photovoltaic systems, traffic and ITS systems, rail and transit infrastructure, low-voltage systems, emergency standby generators, security systems, heavy civil roadway and bridge construction, and EV charging infrastructure.
