Michael McDonald, NECA Boston Chapter Directors attend 2014 NECA National Legislative Conference

Washington, D.C. – The 2014 NECA National Legislative Conference was held in the nation’s capital from May 5 – 8. Key issues impacting the electrical industry were discussed, including multiemployer pension plans, infrastructure investment, misclassification of employees, telecommunications licensing, investment in renewable energy, increasing energy efficiency in conventional power generation through combined heat and power, and support of a comprehensive national energy strategy.

NECA Boston Chapter was represented at the Conference by Directors Michael McDonald – McDonald Electrical Corp., Joe McCluskey, Jr. – E.G. Sawyer Co., Kathy Guinee – Aetna Fire Alarm, Joe Bodio –  LAN-TEL Communications, Ron Koning – State Electric Corp., and lobbyist Jim Smith pf Smith & Associates. The group met with key Massachusetts legislators, including Rep. William Keating, Rep. Stephen Lynch, Rep. Joseph Kennedy III, Rep. Richard Neal, and Sen Edward Markey.
